Iran Starts Exporting Nano Products to South Korea

The Iranian first vice-president reiterated that the first nano product produced by Iran has been exported to South Korea.

"This move has changed our world ranking in the nano sector from seven to the sixth position," Sattari said on Monday.

He noted that this measure has been taken after removal of the sanctions which is a great step forward in the nano sector.

Sattari said that the removal of the West-imposed sanctions has helped Iran to achieve remarkable breakthroughs in scientific and engineering fields.

Iran and the six world powers held several rounds of talks in Geneva, Lausanne and Vienna before striking a final agreement in Vienna on July 14 to end a 13-year-old nuclear standoff.

After the agreement, the UN Security Council unanimously endorsed a draft resolution turning into international law the JCPOA reached between Iran and the 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany) group of countries.

Iran, China Agree to Boost Nanotechnology Coop.

Iranian and Chinese officials inked several agreements to expand scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries, INIC reports.

According to Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC), various Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in the fields of science and technology were signed between Iran's Presidential Office for Science and Technology and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and China Academy of Science during the visit of the East Asian country's president to Tehran.

Creation of Silk Road Science Fund, establishment of advanced technology parks in association with China, development of nanotechnology centers (INCC) and establishment of Iranian station to export therapeutic plants in China are among the most important MoUs signed in the field of science and technology.

The joint financial fund entitled Silk Road Science Fund facilitates mutual cooperation between the two parties by providing financial support through one of the following methods: Carrying out joint research, organization of joint workshops and exchanging researchers and university lecturers. Advanced technology fields include nanotechnology, cognitive sciences and technology, new energies and medical equipment.

Professor Ali Beitollahi of the Iran University of Science and Technology and high-ranking member of the Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council, told Sputnik that these achievements were made possible by strict adherence to the 10-Year Plan of Practical Implementation of Nanotechnologies (2005-2015).

Iran Improves Nano Ranking to 6th, Exceeding Japan

Saeid Sarkar, while noting the presence of over 28,000 nanotechnology experts in Iran, said the country’s scientific ranking has improved this year to 6th by exceeding Japan, which now places Iran after China, US, India, S Korea and Germany.

Saeid Sarkar, Head of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC), made the announcement during the festival of top nanotechnology media, adding “presently, at the end of the first 10-year plan, we are standing among the top five countries in manpower development.”

“Iran has made considerable progress in the field of nanotechnology and has been successful in presenting a model for development and advancement,” he added.

Iran, Russia agree on transfer of nanotechnology

Secretary of Nanotechnology Development Secretary of Presidential Office's Science and Technology Department announced that Iran and Russia have agreed on transfer and exchange of nanotechnology, IRNA reported.

'It was decided in the nano workgroup in the third high Iran-Russia technology Cooperation that Iran would transfer nano carbon tubes to Russia and Russia will in turn export anti-corrosion coverings from Russia to Iran,' Saeed Sarkar said on Sunday.
